Recently someone wrote me saying that Cuba is a white country.

I almost fell off my chair. They simply must be watching to much I love Lucy reruns thinking everyone in Cuba is Ricky Ricardo.

Joking a side, I assert they think that because the Cuban politicians who have high-jacked Cuba policy in Washington, DC are rich white Cubans.

I was born in Cuba. I’ve been back to Cuba, I’ve see the people with my own eyes.

Cuba is a black country.

Now I personally couldn’t care less about color, etc. BUT, I can’t act naive, especially with the 47 year history of white Cuban politicians in both Cuba and the United States destroying families and friends relationships with childish politics.

The “white” politicians throughout the 47 years have lived great for the most part. While the citizens of Cuba, America and the world continue to be deprived access to Cuba.

As you read on, you will see a simple logic that will support part of my claim that:

If Cuba was a white country, there would be no embargo.

First lets get clear on Cuba is a black country. In a future article, you will read why “if Cuba was a white country, there would be no embargo.”

By the why, Barack Obama is mulatto, hence a black man.

Go Obama, Free Cuba!

CIA Cuba facts related to ethnic groups.

Cuba’s population is

51% Mulatto

37% white

11% Black

1% Chinese (Soon to be much more given the deals Cuba has with China)

Barack Obama is a mulatto.

The majority of the world considers Barack Obama a black man, hence if you are mulatto; you are black.

Barack’s mother is white and his father is black. i.e. he’s a mulatto.

Barack Obama is mulatto, yet there is no denying Obama and almost everyone else is going around saying it’s history that Barack is a black man presidential candidate.

No body is mistaking Barack or considering him white.

The majority of the population in Cuba is 66% black. (51% mulatto and 11% black)

I trust you, the reader have now expanded your consciousness.

I truly believe you are not racist, and now you can consider with an even more open reality.

If Cuba was a white country there would be no embargo.

Again, it’s not a matter of racism; it’s a function of consciousness.

*I’m not saying the CIA is always right, (either are they); but the CIA is a much better reliable organization than Wikipedia top rely on as a source of information. No body would want to base their life on Wiki “facts”.

“By the why, Barack Obama is mulatto, hence a black man.”

    Mr. Moro:

Racism is the only factor besides one’s (e.g. a “mulatto’s”) choice that prevents a “mulatto” from being white. Racism forces the choice for one who is both white and black. Mr. Obama, as any mulatto, has the right to be white, black, and/or both.

Interesting post. First time I come across this blog and I haven’t read any of your posts before. I have no idea when it was posted either, I came across it when I was searching about why white Americans can’t even conceive the fact that there are white Hispanics, it’s not a race issue, it just bugs me to no end because I have “white skin”. I’m also Cuban by the way. Anyway I think Obama is as much “white” as he is “black. The only reason why everyone is considering him and seeing him as only “black” is because he has dark-er skin and curly hair. But he was raised by a white grandmother, if my memory doesn’t fail me. Now if he had white skin people wouldn’t think to much about it because as any mixed raced person he could have come out looking mostly white, I know I’ve see it many times before. I mean, look at Vin Diesel, he looks “white” to me, because he has light skin. I thought for a long time he was your average white guy but then I found out he was mixed, yeah he is also mulatto I was shocked because to me he doesn’t look like it. Then again, he has African-American features, so I was “oh yeah, I can see it”. I still consider him white. But I’m used to see those same features on people considering where I come from. If Obama looked like Vin then people wouldn’t have as much of a problem as they do. It’s sad that people judge by looks so much and not by the actual potential. He is just a man, another person running for president, that’s all we should see and of course if he is a good candidate, if he is going to do a good job, etc.

I agree Cuba right now is a black country, it wasn’t 50 years ago though. In fact most Cubans are mixed. I bet if every Cuban on the island took a DNA test it would reveal that they have African blood in them. I know I do, my skin might be light but I know those roots are there and it has showed in some of my other family members. That it’s a fact of almost every Cuban family and we should be proud of it, anyone who says different is just trying to hide where they come from.

    Oh and yeah, GO OBAMA!

dear mister luis moro, i am an american mulatto (one black aprent and one white parent) i first of all found your article and its coments interesting. secondly i respect all points of veiw. but i would respectfully disagree that the world would see mulattos as being part of either the black or white culture. i would possibly think that it would depend on a particular countries perception of the classification of what a mulatto is. it is more importantly noted that it is more important on how the mulatto veiws and classifies him or herself. for example, some mulattos such as myself just use biracial, some may use black or afro-american or afro-(whichever country they reside or are originally from) it should not be left up to a country or someone who is not a mulatto to classify the mulatto individual. i am not sure how the classification system works in cuba or in other countries. but here in america it is assumed that mulattos are black because of the old “one drop laws” that were on the books and were acknowleged as early as the jim crow laws of the twentieth century. it should best be left up to the mixed individual how they would best classify themselves. techncallly even if mr barrack obama is electecred here in the unted states they wont still officially have a black president, but the first biracial president. i dony know what everyone is getting carried away with the race of obama blacks and whites only claim biracial people when it serves their alterior movtives here in the united states i can not say this about other countries since i have not lived in other countries. tahnk you for your time in reading my opinion
