Can someone who is pro U.S. Embargo on Cuba please for once; acknowledge your policies have not worked after 47 years? Please let me know you are all not so radically stubborn driven by psychosis and duplicity towards Cuba.
A person has to be ignorant, or knowingly ignorant, or ignorant again, to say “What embargo on Cuba?”
Call restrictions and political abuse and laws designed to prevent actions whatever you want. They’re still restrictions and political abuse. Out right abuse is what both Cuba and America has done when it comes to Cuban policy and Cuban people everywhere. Since you or I will never change the ways of Castro’s government. We can change the ways of our own U.S. Government; especially since our Cuba policies have not worked for 47 years.
That is why so many voters are supporting Obama. It’s one simple issue for me; Barack’s character to not follow the failed 47 year old ignorant, defiant outride arrogant line some U.S. Politicians out of Miami have taken towards Cuba, under the pretense of representing the people.
I’ve personally met Obama and spoke about our policies towards Cuba. He knows the reality of what the people want and Obama knows the majority of Americans do not want the existing U.S. Policies toward Cuba.
It’s been 47 years of failed policies.
That’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 years of U.S. Policies toward Cuba not working. It’s insane to continue them one more day.
Embargo, sanctions, travel band, call it whatever you want. It has not worked.
The bottom line is, Cuba has been destroyed by Cuban politicians in both Cuba and America.
I was born in Cuba, I have family in Cuba, I’ve been back to Cuba; and it’s the American Government that has come after me, with laws, fines and reams of paperwork, not the Cuban Government for making a movie. What ever happened to our First Amendment, freedom of Speech or Fifth Amendment freedom to travel?
My grandmother who is now 87 years old has to sneak into Cuba from the U.S. since she can’t fly their directly. I have seen my mother die without seeing her brothers again in 38 years. My grandmother has seen two of her children die because of the “there is no embargo on Cuba” attitude.”
If I want to sell, give, gift anything to a family, friend or stranger in Cuba, the U.S. Government does not let me. Our own U.S. Post Office won’t take a package to Cuba. I have to get approval directly from the Federal Government. That’s in sane, I have to go through an approval process to send a box of sox’s to Cuba. (New York Yankee Sox’s to be clear.)
The reality is the current course taken and maintained for the last 47 years by the political leaders of Miamihas not worked. And yes it’s all high-jacked politics out of Miami.
We all know Castro’s Government has not worked.
What still amazes me is the duplicity some people still promote saying we, the U.S. have nothing to do with the results in Cuba? We are not the direct problem, but one can acknowledge we are sure an indirect problem.
Castro sucks, and we suck even more for not having the maturity as a nation, as a Cuban people in Americato stop the political insanity perpetuated by our Cuban-American politicians.
You can act blind or stay in denial; even act in a state of psychosis saying, “What embargo on Cuba” or “I won’t lift the embargo – that doesn’t exist – until Castro goes first” It’s all a form of children acting like adults. “I know what I am but what are you” – Pee Wee Herman. I trust the point is received with humor and love. We, the mature nation should, must act first.
Castro is only, and will only take actions that are for his best personal interest. It’s a known ‘fact’ that Castro has used our U.S. Policies toward Cuba as his excuse for his failure and troubles in Cuba.
We’re going on 50 years of the same nonsense, and some of the children of older Cubans simply “parrot” what they heard as kids with no present day thinking. Consider taking away the U.S. policies will eliminate the Cuban Governments excuses. This may truly give rise to an explosion of freedom invading Cuba through travel, commerce and communication. Nothing else has worked.
